The World of Talamh
First, you need to know why you are fighting. The world of Talamh changed 18 years ago. A big disaster happened called the Cataclysm of Yeldrim. Now, you must fight to fix things.
💡 Secret Tip: Keep your eyes open! If you see a black, one-eyed rabbit creature, follow it! It is not an enemy. It shows you secret rooms, hidden walls to break, or special items. Always follow the rabbit for treasure.
Your Safe Place: The Hearth
Before you go out to fight, you start in Uchawi’s Hearth. This is a safe home for wizards. You should learn where everything is here.
Important Spots in the Hearth:
- The Tree of Talamh: Go here to spend Crystals. This makes your character stronger. Read the upgrades carefully to choose the best ones for your style.
- Ederig: An old fighter lives here. He knows a lot about the world. If you bring him items, he will teach you new fighting moves.
- The Campfire: This is where your friends rest. If you see a bubble over their heads, talk to them. It helps you become better friends.
- Mother Uchawi: Look for sparkly flames on the ground. Touch them to hear Mother Uchawi. She tells stories about the past and gives hints.
- The Exit: Walk East (right) to leave the safe zone and start your adventure in the forest.
💡 Pro Tip: Don’t just play one hero! Go to the campfire to switch characters. Try playing as everyone. This helps you learn the whole story.
How to Fight: Combat Basics

Fighting in Absolum is fun if you know the controls. Here are the basics:
1. Moving and Dodging
- Run: Tap Right or Left twice quickly.
- Dodge: Tap Up or Down twice quickly.
- Dash: Press the Dash button to slide forward.
- Air Dodge: Hold Dash and press Up or Down to dodge attacks in the air.
2. Attacking (Offense)
- Strike: Press the Strike button for a fast hit. Press it many times to do a combo.
- Back Attack: You can turn around during a combo to hit an enemy behind you.
- Running Attack: Press Strike while running for a strong hit.
- Air Attack: You can hit enemies while jumping in the air.
3. Skills and Magic
- Skill Button: This does a slow but heavy attack. It hurts enemies more.
- Chain Attacks: Hit an enemy with a fast Strike, then immediately press Skill. This connects the moves smoothly.
4. Arcanas (Spells)
Arcanas are powerful magic spells. You need Mana to use them. You get Mana by hitting enemies. These spells are great for attacking and can also keep you safe for a second.
5. Deflection (Blocking)
If you dash into an enemy’s attack at the perfect time, you Deflect it. This blocks the damage. It is hard to learn, but very useful. Check other gaming content of my site on mygamediarys.
💡 Pro Tip: You can cancel an attack! If you make a mistake, quickly press Dash. This stops your attack and lets you move away safely.
Advanced Fighting Tips
Want to play like a master? Learn these rules to win more fights.
The Punish Rule
If an enemy misses an attack, or if you dodge them perfectly, hit them immediately! This is called a Punish. When you do this, your whole combo deals extra damage.
Don’t Spam Buttons
Do not use the same move over and over. If you do, the game gives you a penalty. Your attacks will become weak. Mix up your moves!
Overpressure (Stop Infinites)
You cannot hit a boss forever. Eventually, they will glow and push you away. This is called Overpressure.
- How to stop it: Use your Ultimate Move (L2 + R2) to reset them. Or, stop hitting them for a second and let them stand up.
Tech Hit vs. OTG
- OTG (On The Ground): Hitting an enemy while they are lying on the floor.
- Tech Hit: Hitting an enemy as they try to stand up.
Wallbounces
Some strong attacks knock enemies into the wall. They bounce off!
- Why is this good? Wallbounces are free hits. They add damage without stopping your combo. Try to bounce enemies against walls as much as you can.
Character Guide: Galandra

Galandra is a strong warrior. Here is how to use her best moves.
Galandra’s Moves
- Strike Combo: Her 3rd hit uses an elbow, and her 4th hit (a kick) makes enemies bounce off walls.
- Skill: This launches enemies into the air.
- Jump Attacks: Good for hitting flying enemies.
- Air Skill: This is her strongest move! Use it at the end of a combo for big damage.
- Running Attack: She runs and hits. This can even dodge some bullets.
Grappling (Throwing Enemies)
You can grab and throw bad guys.
- Forward Throw: Pushes them far away.
- Up Throw: Throws them up so you can hit them again.
- Note: Throws only hurt if the enemy hits the ground.
Riding Mounts
You can ride animals! They are fast and strong. You can even knock enemies off their mounts and steal them.
💡 Pro Tip: Galandra’s Running Attack is amazing. Use it to get close to enemies quickly.
Understanding Arcanas (Magic Spells)
At the start of the game, you pick one spell. Here is what they do:
- Reaper Cyclone: A spin attack. It does high damage and is great when an enemy is trapped in a corner.
- Draconic Ascent: A dragon uppercut! It is perfect for starting air combos.
- Revenge Claw: A strong swipe. If you use it right when an enemy hits you, it blocks their attack and hits back hard.
- Necrotic Wave: Shoots a wave along the ground. Good for killing many weak enemies at once.
- Phantom Impale: Great for pinning enemies against walls.
- Dark Helix: Not very strong, but helps you move around and escape danger.
Best Upgrades for Galandra
As you play, you will find upgrades called Inspirations. Here are the best ones:
- Charged Sword: This is super important. It deals 300% more damage to armored enemies (enemies with yellow bars).
- Sword Flurry: Makes your sword combo faster and fancier.
- Blade Spin: A spinning attack that hits many times.
- Burial Smash: Hits the ground hard. It knocks down enemies around you.
- Dive Kick: Use this while jumping to kick downwards fast.
- Arcana Mastery: Makes your chosen magic spell much stronger.
💡 Pro Tip: If you have Charged Sword, you can cancel it with a dash at the last second. This is a great way to trick enemies!
Combos to Practice
Go to the training area and try these combos.
- Simple Combo: 3 Strikes -> Running Attack -> Dive Kick -> Air Strike.
- The “Air Specialist”: 3 Strikes -> Skill (Launch) -> Jump -> Air Attacks -> Dive Kick.
- Mana Trick: Even after an enemy is dead, keep hitting their body! This refills your Mana bar for the next fight.
Damage Numbers (How Hard You Hit)
Want to know which move is strongest? Check this simple list:
- Normal Punch: 4 damage (Very weak)
- Full Combo: 34 damage total
- Skill Move: 12 damage
- Charged Sword: 24 to 36 damage (Very strong!)
- Revenge Claw (Counter): 44 damage (Huge damage!)
Why does this matter? A normal punch only does 4 damage. A Charged Sword does 36. This means you should try to use Charged attacks whenever you can, especially on bosses!

Absolum is a hard game, but now you have the knowledge to win. Don’t just button-mash. Use your brain!
